Why are men speak more softly and gently to women than men?

I've noticed that men tend to speak to me much more gently and softly compared to when they interact with other men. When they talk to other men, they just become louder, voices are so deep that it sounds intimidating.

Because they want to make a good impression on women. With each other they talk without filter.

I dont think its that noticable but surely I treat my boys different than women, especially my girlfriend.
