Why do men call women beautiful when they aren't?

I've seen it a lot that guys say let's say a 5/10 girl is "beautiful" and "gorgeous". Why? Why do they lie? I've been lied to as well about the same thing from men. I'm a 5/10, and some guys lie and say that I'm beautiful when I haven't even had my first kiss yet. 😂😂😂😂

A model needs expensive clothing, and a professional make up artist to look as beautiful as any plain woman does to the man that has fallen in love with her. Beauty has a different meaning to each man. She doesn't have to be beautiful to be loved.

Because the person may be 100% unintentionally downplaying their physical looks, and she looks very different to different types of men. You might consider a woman to be a 5/10, but to someone else, she could be a knock-out. And it says you're under 18, you've got plenty of time for a first kiss.

Because men are actually less picky in terms of looks than girls/women are. The spectrum of what guys find attractive is broader than women. Also, guys often call a girl pretty even if they don't mean it, just to get between her legs.

Almost all crushes that I have had liked had either liked my younger sister because she's prettier or not liked me back because I'm not pretty enough. They have told me that. I've never been hit on by a guy, never been complimented by one unless it was out of pity, I've never been in a relationship, I haven't had my first kiss, no guy has had a crush on me and I just can see what's in the mirror. I'm not that good looking. I'm a 5\10 at best, 2\10 on average.

You're right, but like I'm not that pretty. I have eyes so I see what's in the mirror.
It's weird, I've noticed that white and black guys don't like me at all. (I'm white) But Asian guys seem to compliment me, I fit into the Asian beauty standard better than my own countrys standard.
I'm a VERY pale, dark brown haired girl with glasses, I don't have big lips, I have a small jaw, I am slender, no boobs, no butt, I have long legs and I have wide shoulders. I'm the opposite of the beauty standard here in Scandinavia, but I fit more into the Asian one. The only compliments I've gotten is from Asian guys. Boys here where I live won't even look at me, but Asian guys have stared at me before.

Because most women are bombarded with beautiful top 0.01% women. Most young men (in their twenties and younger) have really high standards.

Okay so explain to me the bombardment of the 0.01% of women. Have high standards or just have preferences that seem a bit outrageous for some? The only reason I say that is because basically everybody is told by the machine what beauty is but they're not told by parents enough perhaps how to be beautiful via themselves and not worry about what someone says well this is the standard of or for beauty. I don't know I find a while and even then my twenties I know I can't speak for all but I definitely didn't have high preferences or standards I know what I liked but as far as standards no. I think perhaps the bombardments maybe that's just speaking of the pressures to look like everything from the magazines and social media , but no one and everyone cannot look like that or should want to be the same

Because social media only shows the best looking women. Average and ugly women don't show themselves, and because guys only see the most beautiful women that's what they expect their girl to look like. Big breasts, big butt, no fat other than on those two places, 9-10/10 face and so on.

And yeah I get it of course the internet social media maybe even TV portrays a certain image to susceptible minds of teenagers and young adults.
