I started talking with this guy who said he liked me and wanted to get to know me. I said ok I'll give him a chance. He would text me almost all day, give me a lot of compliments. We have talked on the phone, and then one day he said that on our first date he wanted us to meet in a private place, he wanted to hold my hands, put his hand around my waist and kiss me. He said he wanted to tell me a lot of things but couldn't express himself. And then he said he blushed and got nervous when thinking about them. I said that wouldn't happen (us meeting in a private place holding hands and kissing). I also said we could go for a walk or go for a coffee on our first date and that's it. He said okay and some minutes later he hung up the phone. Next day he blocked me. I called him and he said he acted that way because he didn't want to hurt me. Did I sound like I wanted a serious relationship and he immediately walked away?

Unfortunately it sounds like he was maybe just in it for sex (I really hope that’s not the case), but as soon as you made it clear you’d be meeting in a public place and not somewhere private where he can do anything with you he cut you off which is a bit of a red flag

Saying sorry was always on his mind. He tried not to do anything that would upset me, as he was worried I would stop talking to him.
