Is this behavior manipulative or cute?

I went on a date with a guy, and we instantly clicked. We shared the exact same interests, values, etc. He was like my twin. I didn't suspect anything because he was the one who would talk about those interests first. He wasn't just agreeing with what I was saying. Our friend in common later confessed that my date actually "studied" my instagram before the date, and pretended to be interested in all these things just to get me to like him. My friends are telling me that it's cute, but I actually feel manipulated. What do you guys think?

Its public so anyone can see it. I would have more of an issue with him lying about having the Same interests and values as you. Instagram is a way for people to showcase who or what kind of person they are and can be a good tool to see what a person is into.

It's manipulative because he lied about being in to everything you are. He's literally showing you a fake personality of his. It shows that he's willing to lie for short term game which is sleeping with you. He's not looking for a relationship because how long do you think he can keep pretending to like the same things you like? He wouldn't be able to because it's not a concern of his. Memorizing your social profile is something a sociopath would do.

If they say they studied it I'd grill them over my old memories in a light hearted way XD. Like ask them which pick they liked the most XD.

Just to add to this. Looking at someone's social media is normal (I think we all do it if someone gets our attention), but to ''study'' it so you can pretend you are into the same things as the person and mislead them just to make them like you is wrong. That's what I meant by creepy.
