Why (or rather) Do guys have a one-take attitude?

I just joined a new school, and something I noticed is that the boys here will are shy and wait for me to approach them. Even then, they usually ask a lot of questions the first time and then they barely smile at me if they see me in the corridors or if I say hi - is it normal for guys to only be interested and approachable once (and the first time)? Or is it a problem with me?

You are most likely quite attractive and the still maturing male brain can not muster the required dopamine to function properly. Not joking. its just something they cannot help.

Well, I suppose it is for some guys, but certainly not every guy. So don't stop trying. :)
