Do these scratch marks look like they are from a females fingernails? Please help? My gut feeling is telling me he’s cheating?

I do somewhat similar work - I do Audio/Video installations, and I often have to work in low, deep cabinets (always in dark rooms, it seems) in very cramped quarters and otherwise uncomfortable positions. It's very normal for me to be scratched and bruised up from doing this. I don't do a ton of plumbing because that often requires even more discomfort, and having to strain to get to bolts and nuts and fittings in very cramped spaces, working above your head, with pipes in your face.

When you are doing this kind of work, you are so desperate to get the work done quickly, so that you can get out of there (because you are in pain most of the time, and may also be claustrophobic), so you often get minor injuries - scratches, bruises, etc., because it can be hard work and you'll disregard minor injuries in order to speed things along.

Well unless he dives into bushes with thorns as a hobby then something had to do those scratches and the odds of anyone getting scratches on their back from anything other than sex are pretty slim but maybe he got itchy and scratched it, I have caused scratches on my back cause of an itch before but not common

Tbh, they don’t look like scratch marks to me. They look like bruises from laying down on something, which put pressure against the skin and bones.


My boyfriend got something similar the other day when he was working in the garage with me. Even with a shirt on, it still left bruises and marks that looked like scratches. That’s what I assume your boyfriend had, since you provided the context and his explanation.

Yes, if he was doing a repair under a sink, those are typically very tight fits and his shoulder and arm could easily rub on the corners of the vanity components.

This looks consistent with laying under a sink to me. That seems entirely reasonable. If you spend much time crawling under things, you will understand.

Nothing about those marks suggests a sexual origin to me. Do you think he’s being unfaithful because of an accumulation of evidence, and this is just one more sign? Or are you basing your fear on these injuries, alone? If the former, I don’t think this is conclusive. In the latter case, I encourage you to consider that you may just be feeling insecure. Take a deep breath. Try not to worry.
