Why are dating apps/online dating filled with so many nerdy men?

Probably because the bar-hopping jocks don't really have much need or use for dating apps.

In seriousness, think about what types of people, lifestyles and vocations are either uninterested or generally unable to reliably meet people in public on a day to day basis- it's generally going to be people who are absorbed in their careers, socially inept, probably not attending church meetings or Bible study classes, and not pursuing hobbies that introduce you to many members of the opposite sex, to name a few off the cuff. I know exactly one guy who met his wife on a dating app and are still together... I think all of the others in my circle of friends who are happily married met in church groups and/or were introduced by mutual acquaintances.

It’s usually some rotund woman built like a line backer with beef broad shoulders, or it’s some lady whose nose looks like a giant potato and they have a wart on the side of their mouth (no, I’m not exaggerating) or it’s some blue haired anemic looking vegan with three nose rings telling you to swipe left if you don’t support every single political viewpoint they have and that they just HAVE to tell you about. Or, my favorite, women who are so fat with so many rolls of lard you’d have to toss them in flour and look for the wet spot to find their vagina—but “thick thighs save lives.” 🤮

Well they’re probably single at a higher rate than other men, that’s why they’re overrepresented at dating sites. They’re probably also less likely to be in surroundings irl where they can meet women, that’s why they turn to dating sites. And then also, these interests are just vommon among men. Men you see irl probably often have these interests too but you don’t know about it because you can’t read a profile about them.

Because "nerdy men" invented and use technology more than the "cool kids" do, and the ones who hate the nerdy types are supposed to be "too cool" to be on social media or using dating apps, anyway. You can't have it both ways; hate nerds, but also use their technology and apps.

Because the kind of people that enjoy those hobbies are less likely to be party people that go out and get wasted with alcohol and drugs. They figure women with that in common are likely to not be out partying either and are less available in public to meet them.

Or maybe they value compatibility and want to get to know someone first besides just purely looks, which is all someone usually knows about another person that they met in person.

Because the type of woman we like is also nerdy and likes video games, anime, etc. And the only way to meet a woman like that (as in one who is home on her free time doing those things), is either through online dating, or online gaming lobbies (the former of which, you weed out the women who are already taken by using it).

They are more likely to be homebodies who are online all the time. It's much easier to message a profile than it is to approach a stranger in public and they lack confidence to approach a woman they don't know.

I do go outside, but I'm not going to meet anyone getting the mail, standing in the yard for my 15 minutes of uv, or going shopping.

As for why, because everything fun is indoors. I'm not gonna meet a hardcore gamer outside.

I'd go crazy if I had to spend much time outside, outside is boring.

Those are all requirements, and I've met plenty of women like that, many of which who were absolutely gorgeous, none who were near my age AND are single AND in the united states though. All the ones near my age in the US were taken so far, and I only met those because I was friends with their boyfriends/husbands who I met online while gaming, and when I ask them how they met, they ususlly say "we met in highschool".
