I met this guy, he's older, he's wealthy, and gets me all kinds of things, I do not want to be owned. What do I do?

So I met this guy, he is older than me (a little bit older than conventional standards) and he has not hesitated when it comes to money. He paid for me to get my nails done, to buy some clothes, even for a dinner where we weren't even going together. I really like him, and I guess he likes me too. However, I am terrified that the more money I accept from him, the more he is going to own me. I have obviously manifested these concerns to him, but he just waves them off, and says that it is his pleasure to "pamper" me. I do not know what to do, is this normal in a guy? Is he just being generous?

That's a tough one. It seems like, from the information you have given, that he just enjoys who you are, and wants to make sure you don't ever want for anything ever again, BUT, and it's a pretty big but, have you guys had an argument or disagreement yet? If you have, did he bring up any of the stuff he's purchased for you? If you have had disagreements and he never mentions the money in them, then you could be having a worry from prior relationships where men have tried to make you feel bad or like you owe them something for filling up your tank with gas, or buying new tires. Men can be such assholes.

Anyway, if the money hasn't come up at all, try to think back to your past relationships and see if that fear of being owned, or having it held over your head comes from a particular instance. Maybe you and him can talk about it and iron it all out so he knows where you are coming from. Maybe it will teach him to be a little easier on giving so much.

Ok so time out dont be putting ideas in his head. Depending on who he is as a human that's just being nice. Yes he likes you. . If you see something in him that us telling you that's what is going on with him stop excepting gifts from him and be careful talking to him like that because let's say he likes you in ways you dont like him

One day he will throw that in your face. So don't be using him because you want something the odds are it will back fire. and he will think he owns you.

Some men love to spoil girls they like, this isn't super common behavior, but it happens from time to time.

Just be careful not to abuse his generosity, although it doesn't seem like he's the type who really cares too greatly about pampering his girl.

The portion about being owned though is something to worry about, on occasion he may feel like he's entitled to you because of the money he's invested on you, but that's simply not true. You're an independent woman, and you have every right to deny something if YOU do not feel comfortable with it. Regardless of how much money he may try to convince you otherwise.

Dont try to push him to get you something you will not get your self with you money (as in if he offer keep it to your ability standard if he gifts its his call)

He likes to pay for you. Don't do anything you don't want. Then he can never own you. If you feel like you have to have sex or do something because he's paying for a lot of things, don't do it. Then he can never use his money to get what he wants from you. So never agree to anything you don't want regardless of how much money he invests in you.
