Why is my guy friend so mean to me all of a sudden?

i used to go out with my guy best friend often and recently we made a larger group and more people went out with us including 3 guys. i wasn’t talking to him as much as i usually do when we went out that time but i was normal towards him. he then started being so mean towards me and he told me that i annoy him sometimes while smirking. then i went out only with him and my other friend and he was so painfully mean towards me, saying mean things and bullying me. even at school, he won’t let me sit next to him on a bench, pushing me further with his body. and when i asked him what’s wrong he said “nothing” while also smirking. now he is just so mean and distant, acting weird. what does this behavior mean?

I believe he is jealous. He thinks you are not paying attention to him like before, after the other friends came.
