Like literally we hang out always, work together all the time, even have the same lunch break. He suddenly became distant and started avoiding me, he even changed his desk!

I sincerely don’t know the profound reasons that brought him to his behaviour, since I’m not in his head and I don’t know how’s him and the specific situations happened.
I can suppose maybe he started feeling something for you (more than simple sympathy) and wanted to maintain distance also because you’re coworker.
Or, maybe, he felt a bit too attached to you and wanted to distance yourself from him.
I sincerely can’t imagine other, I suggest you to ask him why he’s keeping his distance so much a and so abruptly.
