I imagine some very cocky guys may lack a certain amount of humility.
It depends if he's confident or just an ass.
If you get stuck with an ass don't be surprised if he's very critical of you and selfish in the relationship.

My friend Scott is a former naval aviator (now a commercial airline pilot) with an ego that would be fatal to the average guy. The cocky attitude is okay, when the guy can back it up. Scott can.

There is a cocky and mean it and don't know the difference, and there is the cocky that is in jest, poking fun at oneself. Not 100% sure which one he is. I'm usually in the self depreciating camp, with a few cocky in Jest moments.
