Depends on the woman! Keep in mind that humans are very adaptable, and pain is one thing we adapt to. Adult women are often better adapted to the pain of side affects from menstruation and childbirth because they are familiar with it. Men have no experience of this their whole lives until they sometimes try simulators--which is comparable to a girl trying the simulator before she actually has her first period.
Think about how people who wax can handle the pain better than a first-time-waxer. Or how men (and women) with dangerous jobs can handle pain better than everyone around them who hasn't ever experienced stuff like severe accidental burns, smashing fingers or toes, broken bones, torn finger nails, broken teeth, etc.
I've been hit enough while playing baseball, that I can handle the pain even when it's severe (like the time I was hit in the kneecap). Most people, male or female, would bawl and fall down if that happened to them right now and they'd never been hit by a pitch.
Also, women who've never been hit in the testicles would also have a hard time the first time they tried such a simulator. They'd probably feel similar to cramps.00 Reply

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWhat kind of toughness are we talking about. Are we talking about:
- Emotional toughness? Can women tolerate more antagonism and hostility then men?
- Pain management? Can women tolerate more body pain (tooth aches, cramps, etc) then men?
- Exercise pain? Can women tolerate more pain in physical conditioning then men?
- Dangerous activity/combat pain? Can women withstand more pain from falling off a motorcycle? Getting beat up in a fight? Getting shot in a leg?
- Stress and psychological pain? Can women tolerate more pain in highly stressful occupations where they are being pushed to the brink?
Women may be naturally tougher in some areas. They have to deal with period cramps and child birth pain which is no joke. Exercise pain can be equal in comparison to ability. That is female athletes will suffer as much conditioning pain as men.
But honestly some of these other areas men have to tolerate more pain if they want to be considered “manly”. While I admit I have never been good at being stoned faced I did goléate years of both conditioning and combat pain being a wrestler and later a profesional fighter. I have had other guys beat the living crap out of me in training but I gritted my teeth (even smiled) and pushed through it. I know that feeling.00 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yId say no mainly because if you look at things like the marines, combat sports and special forces, things that require lots of mental toughness those things are all almost exclusively men. Women can be tough too of course but men are better at is because things that are mentally hard in that way tend to have more men sign up and it’s not like more women can’t do those combats sports and stuff they just don’t because they quit early or decide not to.
I think that shock just hurts men a bit more in that area probably.31 Reply- +1 y
Pretty sure it still hurts the same for women as well
+1 yI don't feel tough at all. The heaviest I can lift when I train my glutes is 8 kg. I am thinner than all guys I have ever seen and weaker also.
I can't protect myself in a fight. I never go out at night without a man I can trust. I don't think women are tougher at all. An average man is stronger than an average woman.23 Reply
Asker+1 yBy tougher I mean as someone who can take more pain. After watching that cramp simulation video, I'd say women can take more pain (therefore being tougher) than men on average.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI don't buy those cramp simulator videos.
First of all, they make cramps out to be like a shock collar, like the pain appears in an instant. From what I heard from real women, and having cramps myself from poor stretching prior to working out, the pain builds up and then quickly goes away after a while, its a sudden flex but it doesn't start at the max pain it will be and its not as fast as a shock collar. The element of surprise likely plays a major role on the reactions given.
Second, the video seems to be targeted towards dudes who never seen a woman on their period. If a woman has any cramping she will at least be holding her abdomen because it is abdominal pain. There's no way in hell anyone can sit there at max power, supposedly labor pain levels, with a straight face. That does not happen.
Finally, I don't think any machine can induce the feeling at least in the same way. It looks like some sort of muscle stimulator is used for this. A uterus is not the same kind of muscle as abs are (which is what muscle stimulators are typically used for). Any use of abs are felt much like the legs and arms, the uterus on the other hand is mostly unnoticeable unless it cramps, like your stomach. If I am correct, then it would make sense that the women would not react and that the men would because the machine is designed to work the muscle out not cramp it.
I don't know maybe I sound like someone's great grandmother trying to make sense of a chaotic scene in a MMORPG but those are my observations.10 ReplyOne thing to point out about about that video with the men simulating abdominal cramps is that was a completely new pain to them. Women are used to it so its reasonable to say they handle much better.
Its like working in a restaurant kitchen. For the first little while being splashed with a little hot oil hurts, after a year it barely registers at all because youve already dealt with it a hundred times, just my experience though.
I know for a fact women deal with illness and headaches/migraines a hell of a lot better than I do. But I've never seen a woman deal with bashing her knuckles on something or cutting her hand open as well as me. But again, if she has dealt with it a hundred times before, she'll probably handle as well as any man.
Experience with pain is what develops your resistance to it.20 Reply788 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Its all relative my man... doesn't mean anything. So no I am not going to say women are tougher or that women are weaker... its all relative to the circumstances and environment. I have known some pretty weak minded people in my life, women and men. I have also know some really physically strong people in my life... and its just biological fact on average men are more physically strong. But pain tolerance is all relative to the individual, gender or sex has no determination on that.
Some women will pull the child birth thing on you, but then again how many women opt for nature child birth these days without C- Sections or Spinal Taps. Are these women weak, and would men be any better? We will never know.00 Reply
+1 yWomen are far more gregarious, as well as in touch with themselves then men. While it might look like they are breaking down as they express their pain, they are able to cope with it much better because they do this. And all the close support they get from their friends and family is invaluable. I also see women accept things more readily.
Men cope all wrong. We fight our emotions (adding to the struggle) want to do it alone (not getting help with the struggle) and want to "fix" it (continuing the struggle)
Women are just better designed to endure.00 Reply1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Maybe but it could also be because most of us guys avoid as best as we could. Go through a guy´s hobby list and most of them love to do stuff where it´s warm and kind of comfortable.
We´re just to pleasure and comfort even gyms are rather a comfort zone because they are heated and they often have places to take a break and relax.
Like where do we guys as a younger generation face any kind of physical trouble?
All inventions are made to make life easier not more complicated.
I think another reason could be the fact that women are kind of used to it anyway therefore their nerves react differently to such a pain signal while guys are completely unprepared it could therefore could feel stronger for them.
So biology probably plays a role in that.00 Reply

That would be like saying that I'm pathetic because I can't handle being in 60° weather.
Like what most people call Luke worm I call burning hot and in the reverse I feel comfortable in between 30° and 20° however beyond that if I have a full stomach and I ate enough meat I can literally go into freezing temperatures without a blanket.
We all have our strengths and our weaknesses women tolerate pain better on average where men are a lot better at dishing out pain.01 Reply- +1 y
Yes, and no. The answer depends on the individual regardless of sex. Pain tolerance is highly subjective; however, women do experience pain at a higher intensity as compared to men. That is the conclusion research has reached so far.
I think no. The video doesn't sound legitimate. But I think women are much better about handling the continuous pain of cramps and things like that. And men are better about handling a large impact or being resistant to breaking bones. We're both better at our own things

Define tougher?
Pain tolerance? Women especially natural red heads have the highest vs men.
Muscle mass? Men have 26ibs more skeletal muscle mass than women (cite Study in Journal of Applied Physiology).
Emotional integrity? That depends on numerous factors that are different per individual.10 Reply

My best friend she beat her daughter 15 year old boyfriend arm wrestling at a party. I felt embarrassed for that poor boy she slammed him hard. I see teens boy today and trust me there are women in the 30’s to 40’s who are way physically stronger. I can do 26 pull ups in a row I’m getting there lol I’m just petite in stature.

Asker+1 ySo women are tougher, yeah? Cool.
No, women have a higher density of pain receptors than men, that makes them feel pain more intensely than men. Men also have higher bone density, muscle mass, and skin thickness than women which protects them. So combination of tougher physique and feeling less pain makes men tougher in general. That's the reason by all of all of the combat roles and highly dangerous jobs are done by men.

+1 yNo thats just a specific instance of pain tolerance to something they feel naturally.
If I found a women and a man of the same physical statures lets say 5'10" and 140 pounds for both and clocked their jaws I am pretty sure 1 will recover from that pain faster than the other.

And introducing a machine that simulates cramps to women who have had cramps for years and then introducing that same machine to men?
Its just bad science. Do a kick in the balls simulator for women, you'll have similar results.00 ReplyPeople get used to pain. Women often experience cramping in the lower abdomen, men not so much, so it is no wonder that they couldn't handle it that well.
Toughness is an individual trait and has nothing to do with gender or sex10 Reply1.5K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. I think it varies from person to person. Most women have experienced cramps to some degree or other from PMS, while guys haven't. I know that I've lived through more physical pain than almost anyone (according to women, giving birth is FAR less painful). I had a morphine pump in my carotid, but still.
00 ReplyI dont think tougher is the right term
A higher pain tolerance yes but they can not with stand as much physical damage, men can take more of a beating than women can witb stronger muscles denser bones better oxygen intake, haven't you ever noticed that women will get a huge brush with the slightest little hit while men can almost get hit with a hammer and not bruse at all00 Reply- 1.4K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.

They could be scripted just like that video you are talkin about. There is really no way of telling what it really feels like because stimulate first I just simulator stuff to actual thing and the only real way to find out is to really swap into someone's body and experienced it themselves.

+1 yKind of depends on the situation. We're built to handle that kind of pain, so it makes sense we can deal with it.
Do we take less damage from outside sources? Heck no. Are we better at dealing with pain? Debatable.01 Reply- +1 y
Not really debatable, women like to ignore just how large the average male pain threshold is due to their body's slight differences.
For instance a kick to the sack is considered more painful than child birth, and I do not know a single man who has not been hit there multiple times in their lives.
Also from just watching people get hit and seeing their reactions and recovery from the pain i can say at least with some confidence that every women i have seen hit or fall down took a lot more to recover than most males.
we can be if we workout like mofo who wants to be like saitama

They demand too much care and attention especially during periods. Not very tough of them.
I doubt you would think of a man as tough if he acted the way some women act during their periods.20 ReplyDo you define tougher as more durable structurally or tougher in regard to pain tolerance? Men are obviously built tougher in terms of size, bone, and muscle density while the studies I have seen show women as better with pain.

You can't really determine who is stronger just by their gender like some people just presume that if one male is stronger than one female, then ALL men are stronger than ALL females, which is not the case.
