I am in the same situation, so I would recommend to take a look at second handed stores. If you take a look, you will see that they mostly sell only things that look like new (unless they're some very very bad stores). There are also some online apps that do this, and that focus on clothes only.
More than that, there are "outlets" where they sell clothes that have some small imperfections so they can't be sold in the main chain of the brand, but are still quite unnoticeable, enough to be still interesting for other customers. Of course, price is lowered, but manufacture can be good.
About second handed, I would suggest this not only on clothes: if you buy second handed devices, tools etc, and they come from some grandma's house, they have probably a better and more durable manufacture because made in the 80s-90s. Also, if you buy second handed good brands, well, it's like getting the good brand, but already "tested", at half price.
For the same price you might afford only some poor cheap overseas manufactured crap, but "new".

I would have 10 - 12 clothes - 5 for spring weekdays and 5 for winter weekdays, 2 for backup in case my regular 5 are dirty or damaged and for 11 years I wore the same clothes cause my weight from the age of 10 - 18 was almost identical. You don’t need to be rich if you strategize, Nicky Hilton says to have three good pieces of jewellery that you alternate and use over and over again for special occasions. You can do this for ten years or more.
