Why guy bestfriend keeps bring up the fact that we can't become a couple even tho this was our decision and I'm fully aware, I don't want it either?

It kinda makes me uncomfortable and shy because he knows that I'm fully aware of the type of relationship i have with him and I've Mentioned him so many times that even tho we flirt , we're friends who cares for eachother but not romantically.

like we're chilling and talking and then he says something like " yeah we'd make a great couple , we suit eachother BUT unfortunately i can't love anyone anymore " as if i just told him to please date me ,
OR he'd make so many jokes about me becoming his wife and stuff but when i do that he kinda gets weird and says " beside joking , i can't really marry someone anymore, so.." and I'm like.."oh okay buddy?"

No , i actually don't want marriage is meaningless to me , i mean at least me and him share the same mindset, i don't have a boyfriend and he had a girlfriend which she cheated on him , me and him met during that time , but we didn't have sexual relationship in that period of time because he told me he doesn't want to automatically see me as a rebound, so we started flirting 6 months after that

If you want that awkward feeling to stop then set some boundaries, stop flirting and make your interactions purely platonic. But the lines get blurred when even a bit of romance pops up, and since you’ve already discussed being in a relationship if it weren’t for him not being ready, I think he will always have that talk in his mind.

I think it would’ve been more clear like if you had that talk and then swept any romance off the table. But since the flirting goes on, along with chatting often and etc, I’m sure he interprets all this as you still having interest, then feels the need to sort of remind you of his position. You’re right to feel uncomfortable, because in a way it’s like repeatedly getting rejected and there’s no reason for that when you only have friendship in mind now, so it’s almost insulting. That’s why going forward, if I were you I’d shut all that stuff down, and if he bothers to bring the topic of wanting to be single up again I’d really be firm in telling him to stop that shit.
