Silly question but I was talking on voice chat with this guy that I’ve been seeing (from what I understand he either never had a girlfriend or just had one in high school so I have to give the first steps but he’s been staying at my house almost once a week where we cuddle all night; last time I kissed him, but just a peck before sleeping). And he dresses really nice so I asked him if he knew any shops that sold cool hoodies so he laughed and told me “I’m not giving you mine” (in a tone as saying “I know what you are trying to do) and I got so flustered because i was genuinely asking where to get one, I didn’t even noticed he had one. Was it an indirect way of saying he wants me to steel/wear his hoodie?
Last time he stayed at my house he stole some cosplay kitty ears I had, he was wearing them and when he was leaving to return home I reminded him that he was still wearing them and he told me: “I know, I’m stealing them” and he literally wore them on public transport till he got home.

Sorry, this sounds more like an asshole thing to do/say, than flirtatious behavior! The guy who answered thought this was flirting (because he wanted you to wear his clothes). That sounds ridiculous, he didn’t say here have mine, quite the opposite, he most definitely did NOT want you wearing his clothes. But you needed to be more assertive. When he said “you’re not stealing my clothes, you should have said “I wasn’t planning to, that’s why I asked for the name of a store where I could buy one! It’s sweet that he comes over and you guys just cuddle, and maybe he just handled himself badly when you asked him where you could buy a good hoodie, but it definitely wasn’t flirting, sorry!

He was definitely joking when he said it, not sounding serious at all. I’ve been told by his friends he’s really bad at flirting and I’m pretty sure he never had a girlfriend before too

Two things: First, if you are SO sure of him just joking around and being a bad flirter, then why are you wasting people’s time by even asking the question if you are sure you know the answer?
Second, even if he was “joking” that doesn’t automatically mean that he was not being an asshole! Plenty of comedians are called out for taking “jokes” too far, and being an asshole!
