Should I ask this guy why he never wanted to have a romantic relationship with me?

We hung out a lot, we kissed, we touched, we shared intimate emotional details and sexted too. Even though he is terribly lonely he told me in no uncertain terms that we won’t be having a romantic relationship. And because I hurt him on one occasion inadvertently I’ve not been merely demoted to the friend zone but the aquaintance zone. Why do men kiss you but don’t see you as relationship material?

You seem to have answered your own question right there. If after that point, he was no longer romantic with you, he must have seen whatever you did as a dealbreaker for him.


I’ve dated and then broken things off after I encountered too many red flags or a dealbreaker.


Now, whether or not it was a reasonable dealbreaker is another question.


Depending on what happened, the reason may be understandable or he may be over-sensitive (e. g. If someone did something that indicated a serious character-flaw, that could be a dealbreaker. If someone did something quite normal, but the partner got super insecure, that could be over-sensitive.)


I suppose it doesn’t hurt to ask, but as mentioned before, he may or may not give you an honest answer.
