A few months ago I joined a dating app. There was no one I really liked except for about 2 people--one more than the other. I "matched" with these two among others, but I wasn't interested in the rest because of diff reasons.
The first guy asked me how I was, and I didn't really like his profile after reading about him. He was too different from me in everything and I didn't like some things he did. I did respond and said I was good, how was he?
The second one never wrote a message. I liked him most of all the potential daters, and we are a 91% match. PS- this isn't "Match. com", but another one. Well, I waited a few months before I actually sent the 2nd guy a message about what he was looking for in terms of dating. Three weeks later he messaged back saying what he wanted, and asked what would be better for me (there was a choice here). It had been so long that I waited for him to message back, I didn't see it until 5 days later. I responded telling him my interests, and asked about a picture he was in. He texted back that same evening and asked what brought me here to where I lived. The also explained about the picture. Then he said the app for texting there was terrible and sent me his number to I could text him there. I did on the following morning as I had not seen his message again, and told him about why I came here (retired, to be closer to my kids). My text was a little long because I had explain some things. Then he texted back the following morning, saying he had lost his power (we had some bad electrical storms last week) and that his basement had flooded, and to give him a day or so. Well, that was Thursday, and being today is Sunday, and no word from him. What can I do, wait for him to text or text to see how he is doing with his basement? I don't want to bother him too much now if he has had a lot of damage, but at the same time I'm curious to see how he is.
