Approaching a girl at the gym is one of those tricky ones. We generally all go to the gym to focus on ourselves and get our training in, not to meet people.

It doesn't mean you're not cute, just that they're either unsure of how to approach, are you single, they don't want to come across as creepy, or just only interested in training

I think guys got the message, its not cool to approach women at the gym. Most chick's don't dig it, they are there to work out not be harassed by guys.

Unless you're that girl who is only there for the attention, half ass working out... I mean if your that chick and they aren't talking to you then, yeah you might not be cute enough.

But most guys at gym seriously are there to workout and assume that's why you're their so if your not inviting conversation or flirting they are going give a shit about you.

We guys get constantly dissed on by women for how we are perceived in our interactions with them at the gym. So, the gym is not a safe place in most guys’ minds to try and approach a girl. We may steal our glances at a girl we think is hot, but that is about it.

It's because you're at the gym, you're working out, and it's rude to interrupt people's workouts.

They're just being courteous at best, and in all likelihood they're just also there working out and not really looking to pick up chicks at the gym.

It's generally really creepy to randomly hit on people in a gym. Most guys know that.

Most guys go to the gym to work out, not pick up chicks. We're all sweaty, nasty, and tired from working out, so we're hardly presentable.

Besides, it's been beaten into our heads 1,000 times that women don't want to be hit on, at the gym, and most don't even like us looking at them, so we just don't do it.

Its just a weird place to approach. Ill say hi and into myself but not the typical approach. I've had women flirt but im going hard and can't speak im out of breath... so its not so pleasant. If you want to talk to men stand around in the waiting area or just do some super light stretches. Then you seem more open to talk. How do i open you when you're pouring sweat on the treadmill?

Not necessarily. They could be intimated by you or they leave you alone because they figure you are at the gym to exercise and not be hit on. I try not to approach girls at the gym as I don't want to bother..
