So this man I work with has recently been avoiding me and not talking to me as much.
I’ve worked with him for 3 years and we always got on extremely well, we were always laughing and have a lot of common interests and similar sense of humour. I was attracted to him the very first day I met him and always have been. So I’ve always had a huuuuuuge crush on him but never told him.
I was never sure if he was just being nice to me or if he was flirting with me especially over the last year.
He is 49 and I’m 30.
He used to be extremely touchy feely with me, he would be leaning on me as we spoke, send me cheeky emails at work, would touch my hands all the time, text me often outside of work, give me compliments on my looks, outfits and would always like my photos on Instagram.
I was definitely trying to flirt with him but I’m quite shy and find it difficult to gauge situations like this because sometimes I wonder if it’s all in my head and always wondered due to his age if he was just being friendly rather than flirting with me.
When we go out for drinks with our colleagues we always end up sitting with each other all night and people have made comments on how he acts with me - someone took a photo of him looking down my dress and he once told me he loved my boobs.
One time when he was drunk he told me he liked me but again I don’t know if he was just being nice or if he meant anything by it.
He split with his ex in 2020 but they have recently got back together.
He started posting lots of photos of them together on Instagram and he seems really happy.
I like him a lot, I obviously respect the fact that he is back together with his ex and have kept my feelings for him hidden for the last 2 years so can deal with that pain but I thought there was at least a friendship there and now he just walks by me and doesn’t talk to me anymore even if I just smile in his direction he just looks away.
It’s really awkward and makes me sad.
