+1 yDepends on the girl and what/who you want.
some likes;1. To be a stay at home wife (no kids). Or mom. No work for these women. Old fashion women. She wants to be in charge
2. total independent - make their own money. Wants a man. Want 50/50. Works for some men. She wants to be in charge
3. equal share - both partner work. She wants to be in charge.
hahaha… if you learn in life at the end of the day.. both just want to love each other, have a good life together. But be prepare to change, grow together as the relationship changes.
what’s needed in a healthy relationship is compromised. Most men don’t want to fight with their partners.. so many give in.women - traditional women. Those who are reasonable will not be offended if you treat her like a lady from time to time. Romance her, treat her with little gifts, buy her flowers sometime, surprise her.
At the same time, she should also show appreciation. That’s healthy and balance.
you have a better idea what it means to be a provider now?in some cultures / the man wears the pants.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWhoa man you got a lot to learn about women. You are only 21 so I’ll cut you some slack.
But generally women do WANT to be provided for (whether they admit it or not). It’s comes from thousands of years of evolution. If this wasn’t true then women wouldn’t be doing the following bs:
- Going on dates just to get free dinners
- Dating or marrying much older and/or unattractive men just because they wealthy
- confidently friendzoning guys i. e. making a unilateral decision to be platonic only while taking advantage of male effort, attention, favors, free counseling, etc.
- voluntarily choosing sex work when they can make money legitimately through normal hard work. However I hold nothing against women who are coerced into this and/or living in a 3rd world country where they need the money to survive. That’s a different story. But as for 1st world women who choose that “profession” and want it to be considered “respectable” work I call bullshit
- politically supporting socialist programs because they see the government as a “paternal” provider. Demanding “free stuff”‘ through tax payer programs
Now let me make it clear. I have met SEVERAL women who are absolutely non of the above. But I’ve also met too many women who are some or even all of the above.
It’s easy to hate on those women. However I have to take in account how their brain chemistry is influenced via evolutionary impacts. They look at the world through emotion including selfish emotions because they think it’s necessary (or have been taught) for survival. However that behavior is unacceptable in most 1st world countries but they do it anyway. They don’t feel as guilty as man would for being a freeloader.
However if they were raised in a strong family they often turn out alright. There is something about a strong father figure that is important for daughters.

663 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Not true at all. they often DO want to take advantage. If you both work they often think her money is for her entertainment and enjoyment and his money is for bills and HER entertainment too. Very few that work much actually behave like they are a team.
Them taking advantage isn't an opinion, it is a proven fact. How? Look at divorces. Most of the time the woman takes a lot of what the MAN had earned and steals it from him in divorce court. Women don't want that to change, that is why they NEVER do anything to get the laws changed. When have you ever seen women having people sign a petition to get a proposal on a ballot to change the laws to stop men from getting abused during divorce? NEVER.
And any woman that get upset over the PROVEN truth are just dishonest hypocrites. It is proven, it is true, they hate it. There is your real answer.

+1 yI have mixed feelings about this. I love being taken care of but I hate feeling that I'm dependent on someone. When me and my now husband were still dating he used to tell me "you don't need to be constantly proving me that you're an independent women" because I wouldn't let him do things for me and was always like oh it's okay I can do it I can pay for it I'm going to get it myself. Eventually I learnt that men love to feel useful for their women and love when we ask them for help.

+1 yThey do like it but the are embarrassed to say so since its cool and hip to be an "independent" woman. Even those that is ridiculous if you logically think about it. They also attack each other if they depend on a man. My girlfriend is stay at home and is just fun and bubbly and keeps my house clean and women talk bad about her all the time, constantly. But she doesn't care. But the point being, women are scared to deal with this crap so you have to make them feel safe to let you make them be safe and taken care of and protected. What they all want anyways but mostly won't admit to.

+1 yI don't like the feeling of being a burden on someone. It's a problem with my friendships. I think, if I didn't have that mindset that I'm burdening others by needing help and not doing the maximum, I would love to feel cared for, though I would still try to provide back.

I took provide to mean my emotional needs more than my monetary ones.
+1 yYes sometimes. Personally I don’t want to feel like I’m overstepping my boundaries or welcome. I don’t want to feel like I owe you anything and I don’t want you to feel like you owe me anything. I don’t want you to feel obligated to take care of me, I feel like that takes away the fun of things. I’m not your kid you know what I mean?

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI’m conflicted because personally I don’t like to be provided for, to be over protected but I do like someone that shows he cares. It can be with small things like helping clean the dishes, a love note or remembering my birthday. The other two, I can do it myself…if it comes from his instinct, then it’s different and I will respect it.

Truth is, vast majority of young modern women aren't looking to be provided for when they look for guys to date. We hold decent educations, careers. We can afford to live on our own well.

@HighValue
actually most women are not against prenuptial agreements. In fact, there's been a sharp increase in women who refuse to get married because they don't want their husbands taking their assets upon divorce. - +1 y
@HighValue
It still does not defeat the premise that women are now more educated and hold careers than ever before. Nowadays, men are an option to women. Men are not a necessity. Marriage is not a necessity for women. There are even plenty of single well educated professional women who opt to have kids on their own.
how sad , nasty and sexist of a human being must you be to throw a tantrum because more women nowadays are holding careers than ever before? - +1 y
Where did I mention careers?
You just proved you are a liar.
I'm sure you will just block like the other sexist pathetic liars on here lately. And statistics still prove that women are the ones stealing in divorce.
Then I see that you are a 30 year old woman. you have very few options at all for a mate regardless of your delusions. You wasted your opportunities in life and no matter how much you deny it online to strangers, that won't change that you will likely never have a good mate for a LTR. - +1 y
@HighValue
Women in their 30s still have more options than men in their 40s - +1 y
@HighValue
does it hurt you about the fact that vast majority of women can survive on their own very well without a man? - +1 y
You need to survive on your own because good men certainly don't want you. You need to get used to being used for hook ups and abandoned with kids from those strangers because that is likely all you can have at this point in life.
Women your age are often bitter because men like me that are tall, in shape, and have a good past and good job can get women in their 20s often and want nothing to do with someone like you. - +1 y
@HighValue
Most women get married around the age of 30 nowadays. Most pregnant women who give birth also tend to be in their 30s

women with great careres tend to have enoug money to have kids on their own. They don't need men to have kids or raise kids. Men are an option to them.
Plus, I can hear a lot of pain in your tone of voice. I'm pretty sure tons of women have rejected you in your life. - +1 y

there are a lot of guys who do care about a girl having a decent education, intelligence and good job. Truth is, a surgeon who spend 30 years in school , is not going to date a woman who isn't smart enough to get into college. Just because you would marry an idiot, it does not mean all men like idiots. - +1 y
huh why are you so hostile you come on here all confrontational i am not wnating to argue with u at all

nobody was hostile to you. just explaining facts. Not everyone loves stupid girls.
u +1 yI like being protected, but I prefer a relationship to be financially equal - not just him providing and paying for everything. Makes me feel uncomfortable and I don’t want to feel like I owe him for that, I’m not looking to be controlled.

would you be mad if he tried to provide for you
- +1 y
what are the upsides of working equally
what are downsides to dependant living - +1 y
I wouldn't be mad because it is a sweet gesture with good intentions. Working equally is great because both people have money which = better lifestyle. Also you can buy things you want with your own money. For dependent living, I'd say the downsides are not having your own money so you feel dependent and don't have full autonomy.
- +1 y
do you consider a male providing would rendr the girl submissiv and the boy domnant?
- +1 y
girls like to be independant and guys like to take care of girls and protect them
Its nice to feel safe and protected

+1 yI like to do the protecting and the providing. There is no pressure on him to do either. I am happy for him to upkeep the house coz I am rubbish at it and if he can cook he's a keeper.
10 ReplyI have a problem with that. When is it too much and when it could be taken as taking advantage of someone and when it's let be taken care of?
05 Reply- +1 y
It's taking advantage when he's paying your bills, rent and food, when clearly you can find a good job and can do so yourself.
It's being taken care of when for holidays you go to Switzerland or something and you ask him how could you guys afford such a trip but he tells you not to worry - +1 y
@anon1903 how can something be taking advantage when he signed up for it? people have agency and autonomy you know, they make there own decisions
