How to deal with an old man touching me?

I thought he was a decent person and not a pervert but I underestimated this old man now everytime he sees me he comes and talk to me while putting his hands on my shoulder and I don't like it. I'm very friendly and polite so I don't want to say anything to him, I don't know what to do

With men of any age, you have to be blunt and direct. If you don’t like some thing, say so. It might be a generational issue, it might be he has boundary issues, who knows? Either way the first step towards resolution remains the same.

You need to stand up for yourself and draw a hard line when people do something to you that you don't like. The first thing you do is step away from him when he does it. If he doesn't get the message say don't touch me, or just say that when you first step away from him. If he still doesn't get the message, have a guy give him a pep talk if you can't bring yourself to do it.
