This guy who I asked out a couple back said that he's not intimidated when a girl asks him out. That, instead, he perceives her as confident. A guy associate said the same thing to me. He told me how attractive it is! What are your povs?
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yYes it's very flattering, especially since I tend to feel like women are not as enthusiastic about guys as guys are about women. Every time I see those videos on YT with women making the first move, it's does feel nice to be proven wrong.

Of course. You don't have to wit for a guy to make the first move all the time. If you like the guy, go for it.

Exactly how I think!
+1 yAs a woman, I say YES! I always like making the first moves on the guys I like. It’s funny to get their reactions. My favorite ex, and my meh ex had a great reaction, but my others pity dated me because of it, so… 😅

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIf I was already attracted to her it would be a dream come true and I would feel like I won the lottery but why do I get the feeling women like this will forever be in the extreme minority

Asker+1 yWell I guess you can call me a minority
Opinion Owner+1 yUnfortunately yes and I'm sure it'll still be this way a hundred years from now or more
It never happened to me if it had I would have liked it

Asker+1 yIt might. Or maybe you will.
As a guy with crippling social anxiety. I have a very hard time to talk to people, and it's even more difficult if it's someone I'm interested in. (I'm also horrible at picking up on hints)
So when a girl asks me out, it's such a relief for me.

+1 yThey aren't very good at doing so because it's never been in their nature to do so in the first place. Due to this it can be very awkward and as a result... a turn off. As a man, when you approach a woman, you understand certain cues, you consider her body language, proximity, her friends, environment, and much more.

Asker+1 yActually in the Victorian period, women used to drop their headkerchief for the men to pick and approach them. So women have been making the first move as long as men has. And it is in our nature. We chose which men we want to have offspring with. Certain traits that some posses are more attractive to women and we see that as a sign as a strong, healthy man who are capable of reproducing and capable and protecting us and our offspring.
So just as some men make the first move, due to their nature, being predators and whatnot, women choose the men they rather be with.- +1 y
They're awkward because women don't feel compelled to do it. It's the same with men who get frequently rejected, if you ain't feeling it, the other party isn't either!

Asker+1 yJust walking up to you and asking you is what I mean.
Asker+1 yThis happens all the time and people go home with a date. You just have to know how to approach.

But I also have a counter-offer: What if she just said "I like you"? And then I could ask her out?

Asker+1 yWell if a girl has the guts to approach a man, just like a man has the guts to approach a woman and ask her out, then she really isn't doing it out of a dare.
Opinion Owner+1 yMore women do that then you realize.
Asker+1 yI'm a woman and I think that we only approach if we really like the guy. Sure. Some girls do it just for attention and whatnot, like some guys do, but for those who are truly interested and want to take that risk do it.
Opinion Owner+1 yWell believe what you want to. Doesn't change reality. 🙂
Asker+1 yReality is different for everyone
Opinion Owner+1 yClearly it's different for you.
Asker+1 yOf course it is. And I'm a girl. If I find a guy attractive, I'll let him know if I feel he's approachable. And hey, they guy whom I'm in a talking stage with, I approached him first.
Opinion Owner+1 yOK. I really don't care this absolutely nothing to do with what I'm talking about.
