3 different male neighbors all older than me and married have something against me and don’t know me at all. I can confirm that out of the 3 1 is definitely mentally ill (the other 2 might be actually) and I don’t get it. I’ll never give a fuck about them but to have so much hatred towards someone you don’t know seems weird/sick. They’re all non black men and seem very obsessed with me. I wouldn’t give any of them the time of day. I feel like as a black woman nobody has respect for us.

It’s hard to say without knowing how it started.

I would say smile and tell them you have no clue why they don’t like you. But engaging might encourage them to become at the least verbally venting-absive. I’d worry for your safety.

Best thing to do with bad neighbors is write down anything that happens. (Document with date and time) and try to completely ignore them. Don’t give them a reason to react to you.

Make a point of being friendly to other neighbors in front of them. It shows them you aren’t alone in the neighborhood and it’s nice to have some friendly faces around at least on a waving bases.

I don't think there's any way for any of us to know for sure, but given the very unusual circumstance of having MULTPLE people think this way about you, I suspect that SOMEONE - could be one of these men, or it could be someone else - has spread stories/rumors about you and worked up this negative attitude towards you in the others. I have no idea exactly what they might have said, but attitudes like that don't just spring up to multiple different people on their own - there had to be some instigating person or factor. Likely, another woman, because men tend not to care very much about what women outside their household do, unless another woman tells them why they should.

That's neighborhoods that don't have anything better to do. I see old crazy lady that yells at everyone who doesn't flattened their boxes when they throw it out. They have no life so they try to yell at people to get attention.

You're always going to have those types as neighbor in most neighborhoods. Especially in the city. In the country side they don't want to give themselves a bad name because everyone knows each other so they try not to show their crazy side as much. But if you lived in the city you have those nosey neighbors starting gossip and spreading rumors because they have nothing to do in their paths life but cause drama.
