Indirectly introduced to his kid?

This guy at work and I like each other a lot. He's divorced with a son. When we were together at work the other day, he called his son in front of me. I noticed he moved the phone to his ear closest to me and I could hear the convo. After their call ended, we talked about his son and the conversation. He's talked about his son before, but this call at this point seemed purposeful. Was he indirectly introducing me to his son?

You have not met him in person, right? Seen him from afar?

Correct, not met him yet. He showed me a couple pictures of him a week before that. The guy had a bad marriage and divorce, and has said he won't date again until his son's an adult (that's years away). Yet he's letting me into his life and being vulnerable in various ways.

How do you consider that an introduction when you didn't even talk to junior? You are seriously reaching.

It’s possible, but I introduced my kids and my workplace despite having no romantic interest there.

Good point. Although we work in a setting where security clearance wouldn't allow for that, so it'd have to be outside of work, but he doesn't socialize with coworkers like that.

Yeah that's possible. Either way it's a good sign that he feels comfortable with you enough to introduce you to his son, let you listen in, and then have a conversation about him 👍
