What's the point in opening up to ANYONE?

i just poured my heart out to people on here and i got answers that made a joke of my situation.

And then people irl wanna insinuate that im not open enough and that im quiet or shy or whatever. Whats the point in opening up? So my heart can get trampled on? Why would i keep doing that to myself?

I don't know what happened on your past questions, but you need to remember where you are. This is the Internet, and while there are certainly people who want to be helpful, there are always going to be people who are just here to stroke their own egos, and don't care if it's at the expense of others. You should expect that (there are no "Internet police" preventing people who are unhelpful from posting), and you should take the good and ignore the rest.

Also - and again, I haven't read your other posts, so I have no idea if any of this applies to you - the tone and quality of the question asked will have an influence on the quality of the responses. Some people ask very disjointed questions, or questions with no where near enough information for anyone here to answer, or will fill their question with paragraphs of information that is of no relevance at all.

There are also people who come here for advice or answers, and it's clear from their stories that THEY (the question asker) are clearly the problem in the story, not the other people, and when this is pointed out to them, they get very upset, even though it's the truth.

in my opinion GaG can be VERY helpful in many cases, but there's no guarantee that it will be - it's the Internet, after all - but either way, you can't take things too personally. Expect some people to be jerks and you'll rarely be disappointed, but you might find some people are really helpful as well. Take the useful parts and leave the crap.

People shouldn't be that way. Everyone has issues. Unfortunately, as everywhere; you'll get your fair share of assholes.

As said below. Take what you can from kind posters and reject the rest. Failing that if you really need advice or just a friendly ear. Find one of the people who offered a sensitive and kind opinion and ask if you can discuss in PM with them.

Don’t worry so much about what others say. Take what you find useful and forget the rest. Take some as constructive criticism. And don’t take thing personal, some people are miserable, don’t be like them, be better! Open up whenever your ready to, to whoever you choose.

Ignore the negativity sadly there's gonna be that on every forum type site. There are good people here to open up to and they'll gladly give you honest and genuine advice on your situation, but there are also assholes. Just block out the toxic people and it'll be okay
