A guy I used to sleep with and nearly got in a relationship with, suddenly unfollowed me on Instagram after a year of us not talking. Side note - He has a new girlfriend who he chose to start seeing over me. He also lets me still follow him on Instagram? All I’ve been posting about on Instagram recently is some voluntary work I’ve been doing at a hospital I work at and the stories aren’t even that often? What’s up with that?

Dear sis, forget that idiot. He used you and he isn't ready for a real love with you. He thrown you like a piece after using you. He know how much it hurts you if you knows that he is seeing another girl over you, but he still chosen to hurt you, break your emotions, damage your self esteem before his new girl, who doesn't have any values either. He just used you as much as he wants and thrown you away like a garbage after that. He doesn't care whatever good you do, like volunteering, good deeds like you have mentioned about hospital work because he clearly isn't a good guy who have values, humanity, etc. If there would have been a good guy in his place he would have appreciated you for all your good works that you are doing and would have made you feel more proud about it and also he wouldn't have made feel another girl great over you. He would have treated you like a queen. He lets you follow him but he doesn't follow you proves that he wants to let you know that you mean nothing to him after he got his new girl because all he is imagining is his new girlfriend and how to make her happy, how to make love to her. He clearly wants to damage your self esteem by invalidating your existence and giving an undeserving girl his love. It isn't love on her either. It is lust. He might have used you for his lust. He might then found a better girl to fit his lusty thoughts. So he might have removed you out of his life because of his fetish desires starting on her. He doesn't care if you are good or bad. He wants to care about fetish desires on his new girlfriend. This clearly isn't a healthy love that you must seek for. He lets you follow him because he wants to hurt you and feed his ego on your tears. My advice is block him, never let him come back into your life. Live your best life. Follow your own interests. Learn a lesson from this idiot and choose a right guy carefully next time who never lets you damage for any other girl and who gives the appreciation that you need, to grow into a great girl that you are. Don't care about your ex or his new girl. This would solve your problem and make them feel powerless to control your valuable emotions anymore. You deserve the best. And you are better than her. I don't see the point of following someone you slept with if you haven't spoken to that person in a year. Also it is possible he is in love with his girlfriend and he unfollowed you out of respect for his girlfriend and their relationship. Unless he blocks you he has no control over your account to unfollow him. He is probably secretly wishing you would unfollow him, either way, move on and stop worrying about what he is doing. You no longer have contact with the guy and he has moved on.
