Why did he finally unfollow me on Instagram after I unfollowed him?

I'm 22 he's 30, we both live in different states and I went to visit family in the state that he lives in and he went out of his way, taking off of work, so I could enjoy my weekend. We had sex it was amazing. I came back home and we still kept in contact because we wanted to see each other again. He got "annoyed" (his words) that I was sending him photos and posting them on Instagram and he didn't talk to me for a week because he said I didn't care about him, he then said that he knew he was being difficult and that he thinks I'm amazing and that he cares about me but he has trust issues.
everything was fine for a couple of days and then bam he completely out of the blue stopped talking to me.. This was May 30th and I tried many many times to reach out to him and try to get through to him. Nothing. He even posted indirect memes about how he doesn't want to fcking see me anymore.
I unfollowed him a couple of days ago and he finally unfollowed me today LOL. He literally had 2 months to unfollow me since he is the one who stopped talking to me first. Why is that? Why are men like this?
