My bfs first marriage didn’t work out& had a baby with her. I’ve been with him almost a year and a half and he doesn’t want kids yet. Is this nrml?

He and I are both 28 and he has one child with his ex wife and wanted more, they got married at the courthouse but didn’t have a wedding and the marriage lasted about a year before things started falling apart. She cheated, lied, and abused him religiously. He always says how he’s never having kids again or just not right now. I don’t want them either right now but I hope he comes around one day. I don’t think he wants to do any of that unless he for sure knows we will work out. I would love to get a man’s opinion on this.

People do change their opinons on having kids, but remember he's probably still feeling a lot of negativity because the last relationship didn't work out and he doesn't have his child with him all of the time.
