When a guy is interested in a woman does he go days without speaking to you through text or phone?

Here’s some background: There’s a guy I’m interested in who lives 3 hours away. He has said and done things to show interest back. He calls me little mama and Ma which I love. He’ll call me sometimes and usually answers when I call if not calls me back. we’ve text back and forth since July. There are a few days we go without texting. I’ll usually reach back out after 3 or 4 days go by. He’s mentioned a few weeks back he’s not a good texter. I’ve mentioned to him when he didn’t reachout for a few days that if he’s not interested to please let me know so I’m not wasting my time. He texted back within minutes letting me know he’s been dealing with things and for me to not think he’s not interested. I drove out last Friday we went out to eat. After that he talked about how he’d come down to visit me. We kissed, made out, held hands, hugged, he held my thigh while driving (none of that was our first time) I told him thank you for today he said No thank you. Before I left said he said to let him know when I made it home. I did that same night and I replied back Saturday morning did he said I’m glad you made it home I’m working rn I’ll talk to you soon and hasn’t since. I’m just confused as to why he goes days without reaching out? Is it a guy thing? Is he not interested? Am I over thinking it? Ladies and men Let me know
