Why does my boyfriend keep lying about vaping?

He's lied 4 times about vaping. I found out through my friend that he was vaping because he was buying vapes from her. She thought I knew the whole time. Ever since I found out he said he was sorry and won't do it again. Then I found out 3 more times that he's been vaping behind my back. I don't support it and neither does my parents. If they ever found out that he vapes, I would have to break up with him. But I'd rather him tell me that he's getting back into vaping than me having to keep finding out on my own. I don't know what to do about it.

He’s lying because you reprimand him like a child and that’s not cool. He has the right to make his own choices as an adult, just as you have the right to dislike it. The thing is though, you cannot force your beliefs onto him, or expect him to change on your behalf. If you don’t like it and your parents opinion is really important to you then leave him. But if you don’t want to break up then you have to get off his ass about the vaping, because you are CHOOSING to stay with a smoker just as he’s choosing not to bother you with it.

If he's actually sorry about it and tries to stop. Then he cares what you think. But since he's been getting back into it, he's probably already addicted. And trust me, just as I'm addicted but I want to stop... It's a whole lot harder than you think.

It's a hunger that you can never satisfy. It pounds into you making you want to feel that feeling. And it keeps growing in hunger until you take another hit.

Don't get mad at him. Try and help him through it.

Because he’s a grown man. You’re not his mother, you’re not even his wife. Break up w him, simple as that. Obviously you’re not worth giving up baling for.

Well, you can't control what he does, that's him, and I think you knew he was a vaper going in, but, what I would worry about is his incessant lying. If he can't stop lying to you about this, what else is lying to you about?
