This guy that I'm interested in keeps bringing up his singleness and how his daughter thinks he should get a girlfriend, but he follows up with him not wanting a relationship right now. He says these things to me totally on his own - I never bring it up. I'm wondering, does he really mean it? I don't know why he's bringing it up. Is he trying to convince himself that he doesn't want it or what? I'm sure he likes me, just don't understand his behavior. Help?
Him bringing his daughter into that conversation to me is very weird and inappropriate. I'll let you decide, but I'd be really put off by that. But I digress. I really can't explain why he is doing that, but knowing why doesn't help you here. I would just call him on it in a light hearted joking way. "Say hey, Moron I'm Dating, why do you keep talking out of both sides of your mouth about this, especially when I don't even bring it up? It's like you feel the need to talk yourself out of it out loud" ... or something to that effect.

To be honest if a guy says he doesn’t want a relationship believe him girl. It’s going to prevent you from getting hurt. That’s as simple as that and I wouldn’t give him excuses or make up scenarios in my head.
