Why do guys flirt/ make you feel special when they know she’s not the one or he doesn’t really like her?

I kinda thought this guy was showing me some genuine attraction nothing sexual.. then he kind of started avoiding me a bit… I figured out that he was talking to someone else but she looks nothing like me… she’s a model and she seems cool..

Flirting is fun. Also, sometimes the guy just doesn't know what he does and doesn't want from a lady until interacting with her for a while. I've been talking and flirting with a girl online for about 9 months (we didn't start off romantic), and even though we have a great spark, I have no idea what kind of person she is until we meet in person next month. It might be that we meet and the vibe is wrong so I just "nope" right on out of there.

He's probably just really outgoing. He's probably like that with everyone, because he's popular and extraverted. You just misread the signals and thought he was flirting when he was not.

Honestly, the only way you can ever know if anyone (guy or girl) is flirting is to ask direct questions.

(But, of course, this requires that other person answering the questions honestly.)

Yeah I think he is that type of person and some say he gives flirt energy..

But for me I never really paid attention to him. I was just focused on my own thing. He would say small things to me and be nice and smiley. Thought nothing of it just though he was nice

But when I had to be around him more the first thing I noticed is that he’s always looking at me. No matter where I’m at he’s glancing and smiling. Even if I just entered the room.

Sometimes he would mirror my behavior

He was helping someone with pottery but as he was helping them he was looking over at me.. he stood right next to me. He usually stands to the side or across. But he wasn’t asking how my pot was going he was asking how I was doing.. but I was doing fine. I didn’t need any help
