Why do guys make you feel special then ignore you?

I know both genders do it I just what an explanation when it comes to boys.

Anytime a guy does this, it's because he's trying to get his hand in several baskets (girls) while he decides what he wants/which one he wants. It's a way to string you along and "keep" you, just in case someone better doesn't come along.

Remember, just because a guy shows that he's interested in you, it doesn't mean he values you. Learn to tell the difference between a guy that really likes you, and one that is just using you.

A guy who really likes you will make it known by what he says and how he treats you. Basically, you will never be left wondering.

A guy who is playing you, will send mixed signals.

It's really as easy and simple as that. Don't go around thinking that if you stay a little longer, he will change. Don't go around thinking you are the exception to the rules.

I mean, how would you treat someone you were really interested in? Wouldn't you follow through with what you say? Wouldn't you treat them well? WOuldn't you talk to them often and make them feel loved? Wouldn't you give them a lot of your time? If someone isn't treating you the way you would treat someone you were interested in, it means they aren't THAT interested in you.

I recently had a guy suddenly ignore me, i think he felt rejected because i cancelled on joining for a party he was hosting (i had other plans which he knew of). But he kind of avoided me. So think about whether you may have unintentionally rejected him? One guy liked me and ignored me, i ignored him back.. he would come running each time. It got old though, he did it to act cool. Immaturity would be my reason for his behaviour. One guy showed massive interest, but didn't know how to take things further and starting avoiding me so that was weird. Another guy ignored me because he waa dating a girl and felt like it was wrong. Give me more details.. there could be many reasons

Err well only after thinking about it for a couple of days I realised there may have been other reasons why he's acting like it but then I might just be overthinking. Basically, he kept coming up to me he was complimenting me and I was going a long with him, hugged him bye he kissed me on the cheek etc. But then I realised, when he came up to me and was trying to talk to me, I may have accidently ignored him slightly because there was a group of 6 of us and I might've been getting distracted? Then I felt so bad but then I asked my friend that was there and she said I was fine so I have no idea!

I did that to a guy once! Exact same thing, he was still nice but no longer interested. He distanced himself. Go up to him one day and say hey and suggest something like u guys used to do. Dont bring up the ignoring thing, not until u guys are cool then. If he still ignores u after u make a friendly gesture then let it go

Haha I would but he goes to a different school and it was only at two parties! The second party was when this happened, he hasn't accepted my facebook request or anything even though he told me to add him, so weird

Ohhhh i think the guys' comments are right then. He isn't interested, he was just enjoying a bit of flirting and attention. It was no big deal, you may be over thinking it a little. Such things happen a lot as you get older. Next time you have such a situation, just enjoy flirting and let the guy come to you. This guy just enjoyed your attention and he liked that you liked him. But he doesn't take it seeiously. Us girls do it a lot to so don't feel bad about it. Its actually nothing personal, he just didn't go with the intention of meeting someone

I know it's like the worst feeling. I think they do it because they know they have you hooked no matter what you'll come back. To fix this problem I deleted numbers, etc. and have come to the conclusion that when wants to stop being a dick then he knows how to find me and fix it (if that's what he really wants that is).

Have to agree with the whole women do it more but the reason men do it is usually to see if the girl is easy. If she is, he's in and out of her as quickly as possible and gone. Easiest way to get rid of someone is be a bitch/asshole to them. So you either get what you want or you dont then ditch em.

Just slow down enjoy life, you still young. Dont worry about men at your age.
