Why is he so cold?

Hello, there’s a man that I have a crush on. He’s around 30 and as a person I would describe him as very social, he has no problems communicating to other people, but he acts weird when talking to me. When communicating through chat he usually is quite freindly, although sometimes he asks questions and sends emojis, other times he chats in a cold way as if I was bothering him. In person he acts strange. During the conversation he looks in my eyes for like 2 seconds and then he just looks away for like 30 seconds, then he looks at me again. Sometimes I feel like he tries to avoid me, he chooses to talk to everyone in the room, but not me. He only talks to me when there is no one else and even when he does, he acts cold even though he looks engaged in the conversation. He acts nervous, plays with his socks or objects in his hand sometimes pressing them against his lips while looking at me. A few months ago I kind of hint that I have feelings for him, but he didn’t do anything. Also, he’s got a girlfriend, but he isn’t very loyal as a person, so I don’t know how serious the relationship is. I also told him another boy wanted to go on a date with me and he even told me I should try to meet him, so it looks like he couldn’t care less. I would like to be at least friends, but I’m not sure if he even likes me or if he’s false. What do you think about his behavior? Have you ever acted like this or has something like that happened to you with another man?
