He typically gets mad or if I bring an issue up he will distance himself or have us take a break. Right after we makeup over text or whatever, I reach out to say hit or whatever and he doesn’t respond. Or if I ask if he’s ok I get short answers like I’m at work until we actually makeup in person. Then he is really warm and friendly. Even right after he sees me he’s warm and friendly over text. He’s my friends with benefits. But man the silent treatment even right after we makeup is in full force.

If you are looking for a long term relationship with this guy and if you are not getting back what you require from the situation then it's might be a good time to be completely honest with yourself and if he's only being intimate with you every now and then that's just simply a bed buddy. It sounds like you are looking for a relationship with this guy but I think he is just using you for what he wants and that's it for your piece of mind and a opportunity to be with someone who will love you unconditionally then it's probably the time to get rid of him and consider finding a man who will be in a relationship with you and want to be there.

You appear to be making a friends with benefits situation into a relationship. He might be polite, cordial and sociable when you two are together but that's just him being considerate. You two meet to have sex. He probably doesn't care about your private life or how your day is going. You didn't say what the issues were, but they may have been something beyond the bounds of a friends with benefits that is of no interest to him. It's not narcissistic behavior.

Just sounds like he keeps you around for what he wants and once he gets it he does his own thing till he needs some again
