Can confident guys still get shy or does he dislike me?

So basically this co-worker started really confident he would mention my name all the time, tease me, get in my personal space his friend even said he liked me. But I was overwhelmed by the attention and now its really awkward.

He barely says anything to me now but will hover around sometimes like standing close then walking away, always with a blank expression although I noticed a couple of times he looks red. Most the time I try to start a conversation he will look the other direction and sounds uninterested. The couple of times he actually made eye contact he was blinking rapidly and fidgeting, and another time he just smiled without saying anything.

He's not shy either around his friends he's really boisterous and loud and I've seen him have long conversations with other girls. I just feel like I have ruined this with my shyness and he dislikes me now.

Sounds more like he was flirting and trying to get your attention and then gave up when you acted disinterested. From your details, seems as if he was turning on the "charm" or however he flirts. When you didn't really give him any signals, he quit and moved on.

I don't think that necessarily means he dislikes you. Sounds more like he is just back to keeping it professional, which is what you should be doing anyhow.

Take this as a dodged bullet. Workplace romances or relationships rarely work out. That is why so many companies have rules against him. The two parties involved rarely think about the consequences if things go bad.

It can create a very tense and disruptive work environment. That is the last thing an employer wants to see and why so many forbid it.

I think things probably worked out for the best in your situation. Now, you and him can do what you are being paid to do, which is work and be productive for the company.

To be fair there are multiple people who are in relationships there after meeting at work. But yeah I will try and see it as a positive and move on thank you for the advice.

Oh, I don't doubt there are people in relationships. I am just pointing out the pitfalls of that. If the company allows it, then that is their decision.

Yes a confident borderline Alpha guy who succeeds and assists others to succeed can definitely be shy in their personal lives. Some of us are sort of scared by the personal and more submissive in that relationship. We wrongly see that as a place where leadership is not required all the time the women perceiving a underappreciated feeling.

I don't care how confident the guy is when he sees somebody that he truly likes something happens to him and he becomes so very shy because he wants to say so many things and his mouth won't even work he feels so many things but he can't even think yes confident guys can become very shy I'm very confident and it has happened to me many times

He may think you don't like him, but we all get shy sometimes too.
