Yes to a degree. Empathy is more understanding how that person feels because you’ve been through it yourself so you can relate. In most cases. But it can be hard sometimes because for me in dealing w women in my experience a lot of women seem to break down when it comes to a lot of things. Men usually don’t cry about a lot of things women do because growing up most men are told to shut up, stop crying, keep moving. Why do you think we’re so stubborn w a lot of things like seeking medical attention. We keep moving on regardless of how we feel most times. I work w a lot of women in the medical field, man it’s always something. That’s just my experience though.

A common misconception is that we are born with differing levels of natural empathic 'ability' but research has now shown that empathy is a skill that we can hone and refine. Neurologically we are all born with a very similar ability to empathize, male and female, but our choice to use this ability varies greatly. Although men show lower levels of empathy than do women, one could argue, on the basis of the present findings, that empathy is more important for men in terms of promoting forgiveness.

I think just about anyone except a real complete narcissist ( Trump) or a sociopath ( serial killers) can be empathetic to some degree. Women have the advantage with empathy since they can produce Oxytocin endogenously. Oxytocin surges during birth so that there is a boonding with a new creature who has nothing but needs to be filled

Definitely, but it depends on who they are being empathetic to. Men tend to be far more empathetic toward women than women are toward men.
