Is there any correlation between a guy with divorced parents and their relationship with the opposite sex?

I'm not talking about dating exclusively.

Meet this guy a few years ago and in one of our conversations, he mentioned that his parents divorced when he was young. I've noticed that on social media, he's more open to talk with his mother to the point of posting pictures with her and dedications posts especially on mothers day.
Till this day, Im not sure who his father is.

While we worked together, he looked very normal and got along with everyone especially with other men but when it came to women although he was nice as usual, he seemed to keep them at arms leght. With me he only did that emotionally but physically he seemed to enjoy my company.

I had an ex who also came from a broken home, and was very close to his mother but treated everyone the same. He was not uncomfortable talking with women but since was a bit shy that came into play.

It's normal for guys to favor one another when it comes to friendship and the same happens with women but if you come from a place where a romantic relationship failed, regardless of who's at fault is then why do men prefer staying with their mothers and not the father's?
Why do they act like the male figure of their life is invisible and don't want to interact that much?
Also, if they favor their mother's, then why is difficult for them to form a good relationship with other woman who is not a family member?
