Me and my coworker mess around. Why at work he act scared to be around me but when we get alone he act normal?

He probably doesn’t want people at work finding out. I don't know if you’re allowed to date coworkers but if not then thats probably why he’s acting that way. But if you are allowed then he may still want to keep it lowkey.
