Texting & the dreaded long-distance?

Guys, I have been texting with this guy since February and the spark was immediately there when we met. Over the past months we have texted and sometimes let a week go by without texting and we have only been able to see each other once in the meanwhile.

I’m not the best texter and neither is he, but I feel nowadays the conversation is drying up and we are both losing interest. I really like this guy but since we’re not in a relationship it’s difficult to establish who texts first or what to text etc.

What can I do from my side to ensure the flame doesn’t die over text?

I think a crucial factor with LDR situations is a silver lining. Some sort of goal to see each other more, move closer, etc. When you can’t look forward to the distance being over at some point, then growing apart is almost non-avoidable. At least when it’s romantic and you aren’t just friends. After almost a year of only texting and seeing each other once, something needs to be established. If one or neither of you want a relationship because of the distance then this whole thing is pointless and you’re wasting each other’s time when you can be meeting someone else. So figure out what’s next. Are you going to be in a relationship? Try seeing each other more? Something, anything. As for the texting, anyone would get bored of that eventually there’s only so many topics and personal revelations to discuss before the well is dry. Try a phone convo or video chat, but even that may not be enough. You like him a lot but be real with yourself and each other. It’s only fair.

That's next to impossible. You HAVE to spend real time with people to have any sort of relationship.
