Help, I don't know what to do?

Me [F19] and my ex [M19] have been talking to each other recently. I still love him and he claims to love me a lot as well. We talk a lot on call and he even asks for my pictures and saves my selfie videos. We are not doing anything and not putting labels on what the entire thing is. Note : We even say I love you before hanging up. Now, he has said many times that I don't call him and don't text him. And he is always the first one to do so, which, he is. I don't like texting or calling first. Plus he jokes around a lot, about anything and it makes me miss him even more, and I tend to cry on call sometimes cause of how much I miss him. I don't know if I should text him first, or call him first. If he isn't texting me for two days, he isn't interested right? Please help me out.
