Do any men kind of wish they were gay?

I ask because dealing with another guy (if you were gay) is probably preferable to dealing with women, who are just impossible (lying, cheating, stealing, etc) and dangerous as hell.

Absolutely not, although I understand the thought... e. g. it's difficult to understand the, communicate, and get along with women, because they are so different. They, in general, think differently and come from a different place emotionally.

Accept reality, their minds are wired different, they have a different purpose and view. I appreciate the difference, to an extent, because it challenges me to get beyond myself. I've grown the most being challenged in relationship. It's intimacy that challenges ourselves.. and "God", that love within us, is challenged. If it was all smooth and easy, there'd be no reason to change, to address deep inner flaws, or challenge our perspective and really learn to love.

Humans are emotional creatures and each has their "flaws", accept that. Not all women have the same flaws nor men. But we're all flawed in some regard. When you come from a place of emotional strength (without fear, but in love, etc..), you want to reach out and connect and you will find ways to do so. A new world opens up, in an emotional sense, and new life adventures. Joys, and maybe pains too, but real life, not just existing.

You can connect as well with men, and relate better depending upon where you come from. The mating part of the brain says "no"... for good reason, for most. There's no reproduction from that. Note I also see challenges to emotional growth in gay men I've met. Similar challenges there.

Gay men and lesbian women are both people who “gave up” of trying to understand the opposite gender, or shut themselves down when they were hurt by the opposite gender. Some were sexually hurt by their own gender and believed it was “normal.”

That is the only reason (s) they go towards that avenue.

The last possible reason is if they find it, as any other “taboo” thing, a turn on. The typical: not supposed to do that, so it feels good.

That’s just my addition to this comment.

Despite what I mentioned, I appreciate everything you said in your comment, and I think it’s wonderfully written/typed.

Straight men supposedly lived for glory and love to be challenged. I don’t see why they’d close down and hate any challenge of a woman. If a boy can be molested by his uncle, and believe homosexuality is normal, and he then turns to overindulgence in gay sex because he is mixing the pain and shame of the situation, with the pleasure of sexual stimulation, I don’t see why a straight man cannot balance the physical and visual pleasures of a woman, despite her “flaws,” as you had mentioned.

That is my own personal wondering, and something I’ll continue to ponder.

What a wonderful world we live in though, where we can be challenged, set differences aside, and take the best out of love and all things.

Aside, and apart from everything I’ve mentioned: your comment was pure wisdom and poetry.

No. I have no problem being in a close friendship with another man (in fact, I do have that, and I cherish our relationship greatly.). But I could never see myself having a romance with a man. Because that just doesn't appeal to me. The kind of romance I desire is with a woman. Because women have that intangible feminine quality that men do not have. ... Plus, they're a whole hell of a lot prettier!

Understandable. Almost all women deal with what you are talking about. I believe it has to do with hormonal birth control lowering libido for many women.

Either way, it's not that I've given up on people (although some people are lost causes). I have given up on finding a girlfriend or anything like that. It's exhausting. Being single for 7 years isn't even depressing anymore; it's just exhausting thinking about asking girls out because I've never gotten a yes from all the girls I've asked out. I've only gotten to go on the few dates I have because of dating apps, and even those weren't great since apparently they all only wanted sex.

No, the idea of wishing to be gay seems really odd to me. I always prefered women, and in spite of obvious physical and psychological differences, that will not change. By the way, men also lie, cheat and steal, and as far as I noticed around me over the years, I'm not convinced men do it less than women.
