Why the Guy is acting strange?

We used to be friends and hookup. But since I was looking for pleasure elsewhere, we parted ways and blocked numbers. Later we became collogues and were in such a position that we need to see and talk. Thus I texted him. He began acting like a stranger, not even knowing who I was. So I decided to leave the conversation, where he remotely remembered my name and said "there are couple of heartbroken (my name) s in his life". As far as I know there is only one contact by my name in his phone. Anyways I dint care for what he said and went ahead to discuss our official concerns. That's when he went to our personal questions. Only if I would ever tell him if I'm interested (hookup) in him will he talk to me regarding official issues. Also, during our brief fling he was possessive and controlling to such an extend that no man should have me except him. Sort of being exclusive without commitment.

That is very odd. The best thing I can tell you is that perhaps he formed an attachment to you in his mind and now doesn't want you even remotely connected to another guy. The work connection doesn't help because it keeps you in contact.
