What makes an outgoing, popular guy want to get married?

My father is an a life example. He was very popular in school, had mediocre grades, repeated the school year twice (mainly out of laziness) and sometimes even verbally bullied a couple classmates. He never did those severe bullyings though; it was mainly humiliation tactics and putting nicknames on them.

His friends would come looking for him at his house for parties. He had no problems getting dates. Apparently he wasn't the guy that commits. Then suddenly at the age of 32, he marries my mother and I'm born the following year.

He just explained that it was due to age and his wants towards forming a family. He only came drunk from a party once (I was 1 year-old), my mother was upset and he promised it wouldn't happen again. He kept the promise. It hasn't. He never cheated.

So basically a former popular, player type transformed into a committed husband. Seriously what makes an outgoing, popular guy want to get married?

In my case, I just got tired of sleeping with new girls all the time only for them to slip between my fingers. I remember a guy on here saying nightclubs and bars are a waste of time and you never get girls. For me, it was the opposite. I could get a new girl every weekend.

They weren't always the prettiest (although I got a bikini model) one time but they were mostly short relationships except for one that messed me up.

So I retired from the night way. I started hanging out with my friends more including in daytime settings and I met my now-wife at a picnic.

If I drill down to my lowest level and this isn't my real thinking/emotional level, women are tedious after a while. And all the pussy you encounter from thick as with mucous to thin and clear and all the internal textures like smooth (most of the time) to ribbed (very rare) don't always make up for the tedium. All my clubbing never made me land my wife material where all my efforts paid off.

But picnic did.

I had a steady girlfriend for 4 years and then we broke up. For the next year I sort of went off the rails a little. I dated a string of girls. Some were real bimbos but some were really nice. I treated them all badly. I was really sick of dating and was going to give up on it for a while maybe forever. The next day I met my future wife. She was exatly when I needed at the time and really it just felt like it was time to get married. I was 24 years old.

He used to brag about his bullying years and he was straight forward about him being a former party boy. He also told the story of how a girl confused him for a 15 year-old when he was just 13 (he was taller for his age at the time).

True. I was right about never having kids with him. He was a POS in the end. I've found better since and we've been dating for nearly 11 months now. We have common goals such was getting married and having a child soon.
