At the professional level race car drivers in all variations of the sport are dominated by men. It is what it is... Men consistently outperform women on spatial tasks. There have been countless studies on it. Which is why you often see women making crazy dangerous maneuvers where they cut people off. You know it’s a women because of the pink license plate border, breast cancer awareness bumper sticker, or whatever… Women are often afraid to pass cars when there is a mile distance between themselves and oncoming vehicles. The same can be said about women and upturns. They have trouble judging the distance of oncoming vehicles so they become indecisive about when to make the turn and sometime even just crossing the road to make a turn to the other side of the street into a parking lot. They have issues parking in the lines often and parallel parking is often a huge issue for them. Another behavior that is often present in women drivers is autopilot. They don’t focus on what they are doing. They are always trying to multi-task and are absent minded. They will be thinking about what they should eat for dinner and then drive to the wrong place on accident and say, oh shoot where am I going, I’m on auto pilot. This lack of focus is also dangerous and can lead to collisions. Women often focus on social features, so when people say heh where the hell are you going, they make an adjustment and refocus on the task to get where they are going. Where as men focus more on motion features, so they are focusing on passing landmarks to get to a destination in a sequence of planned steps.

The fact is women cause more accidents per capita. They are more dangerous drivers. Men likely get discriminated against in auto insurance premiums because, men are more likely to drive. If you put a husband and a wife in a car together, than man is probably going to want to drive. So more hours on the road, leads to increase change of being in an accident. Even if you are less likely to cause an accident, doesn't mean you will not be in one due to someone else's mistake.

+1 yI don't think that men, or women, are better/worse drivers then the other gender.
There are some variances, however.
Men, in general, are better at spatial awareness, which lends itself to being able to accurately gauge where other vehicles/objects are in relation to their own vehicle. That's why men tend to be better at parking than women.
As a result, women tend to have more minor accidents, and "fender benders". Men, on the other hand, tend to be more aggressive, and take greater risks, which tends to result in more major accidents, and fatal crashes.
According to the data, men are involved in more total vehicular accidents than women, but that is based upon miles driven, and men drive more miles than women, overall. If you factor everything by percentage, then both genders are roughly equal.
Men just skew more towards the big accidents, and women more towards the smaller accidents, but neither is technically "better," just different. Individual skill level makes a big difference, too, so it's unfair to say that all men/women do these things.

…to be a ‘good’ driver as a guy it means you can do technical things and beat other people.
To be a ‘good’ driver as a women it means you can get places safely without harming others.

+1 yLol! It isn’t so much we think girls aren’t as good at it as much as we think we are better at it. My ex pout me in my place and I haven’t messed that up since. I’m fine with driving and I’m fine with letting the girl drive but I will never again think I am better just because I got a dick…

Well, men think they are better than women buy it isn't a fact

But*

I agree totally! Some may not be too good but others are way better then me. And that goes for everything that is why I hate the whole stereotyping of sex’s!
- +1 y
It's not stereotyping bro, it's biology. Men are more competitive in nature thanks to mainly testosterone and ability. To find that men exceed at everything is in no way surprising or ia it a social construct. It's biological evolutionary fact.
- +1 y
@PatriceONeal there is nothing wrong with that
- +1 y
Nope there isn't. That's the equality that people keep talking about. We aren't equal we're complimentary.
- +1 y
@PatriceONeal exactly
- +1 y
@patriceoneal we aren’t talking about physical abilities here and I never said that woman are equal in strength to men. We are talking hand and eye coordination, muscle memory and problem solving. In those areas there is no difference between men and woman. Physical strength yes we do typically out do woman by a mile naturally. But she asked about driving skills… not bench pressing.
Secondly if you want to talk about equality then this is precisely the reason woman complain about mansplaining and how men don’t keep things equal. Because they jump to conclusions based on a word and go off on a tangent about something that NO ONE was talking about. - +1 y
The fact you said "mansplaining" unironically is hilarious. It's inherently sexist and shuts down all conversation. What a useless idiot response.
I never qualified ability as physical ability, you did that then attacked that strawman that I didn't mention. Never mentioned bench pressing either sweetie pie.
Hand eye coordination, muscle memory and problem aolving skills are far and away more prevalent in men than women. Men have gone through different and more intense evolutionary obstacles and have had to overcome them that make it this way. - +1 y
@PatriceONeal interesting!

+1 yBefore power steering was invented, Women didn't have the upper body strength to turn the wheel in order to steer. This is why men are better at it. We've done it longer, and we like mechanical stuff, "things". Men like things, women like people. Cars are things.

So that means women drive with emotions? Sooo if they see an animal on the road it is more likely they will cause an accident?
- +1 y
To some degree that's true. Most people prefer a old white male pilot to fly their vacation.
- +1 y
Interesting... well some women can be good pilots but there may be some truth to it☺️
- +1 y
and I'm sure there's a few Eskimo physicians too, I'd still prefer the Indian dude named pradeep
- +1 y
I'm just saying. I've tried to teach my sisters, mom, and gfs to parallel park and have never succeeded.

Interesting

Cat. The man will be the pilot you can be the stewardess serving ginger ale and kicking Karen's off the plane. Deal?

Okay deal

You'll make a great stewardess to hopefully a fine pilot 😉

Because a lot woman have fears when they are for example need to overtake a big truck on the high way Fear and driving is a recipe for unsafe situations on the road. Also some men have fears behind the wheel but in my opinion you better not drive when you are scared in the car
10 Replybecause no ones' ever met one who can parallel park. Seriously, every woman in my extended family hates to drive and is fucking terrible at it. On the rare occasion I ride in a car with my wife driving, I'm always worried one of the other drivers will follow us to a gas station to stab her in the throat with a steak knife. Not to mention getting somewhere takes twice as long. But seriously, it is true that on average men have better spacial judgement while women on average better at fine motor dexterity (think watch making), I believe this at least part of the reason there has never been a winning female race driver and most women don't like driving and aren't excellent at it compared to the average male.
00 ReplyIt depends on what kind of driving. Some heavy vehicles absolutely require a lot of knowledge in order to operate, which most women aren't interested in. But regular cars and even racecars, I didn't see a big difference in men and women.
10 Reply558 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Women have fewer accidents, it's true..
but (and it's a big one)
Men drive on average ten times the distance women do. The majority of long-haul drivers are men. Most chauffeurs are men. Most reps on the road. Hell, even milkmen are men.
The insurance industry is biased against men because fewer women have a crash, but don't take into consideration that men often drive ten times the distance women do.
Over miles driven the stats are roughly equal when scaled up.00 Replyim not entirely sure I know girls like to tailgate and some are ove cautious But honestly if nascar was a all woman's sport would be fun to watch
10 ReplyMost women are fine drivers. The image might be from seeing a small %, but still a significant number, putting on makeup and other distractions while driving 70 MPH on the freeway.
