Falling back in love/crushing?

So there's some guy in my science class, who I really liked at the beginning of the year, cute, quiet, respectful guy. I asked him out to hoco, didn't respond, he kept looking as if he wanted to talk but I was always with a friend in that class so it would've been awkward for the both of us. I just sorta "stopped" liking him, but now, everyday I see him, he stares at me and looks away like I caught him (which I do) when I look over. We keep making eye contact, but somethings just bringing me back to him.

I think crushes come and go with their intensity, but it doesn't stop completely until you stop seeing that person.
I would try and chat with him alone. See what he says and how he reacts.
