I'm a 22 year old female and am into photoshoots. So this photographer reached out to me back in March and really wanted to do a shoot with me because he liked the other pics I've gotten taken. He is a boudoir photographer by the way. So I agreed and the pics turned out very well. Other people have said so as well. So usually he posts at least one pic of a model's shoot on his instagram. But he didn't post me. I ignored it because it was my first shoot and new. But since then he has asked me to do 2 other photoshoots, one was hotel themed and the other one was Christmas themed. And he posted his other models with these themes, but not me. At all. It's an immature thing to get upset about and I haven't said anything to him, but I'm almost offended tbh... I mean, my pics turned out pretty good and people are always complimenting them. But he won't even post me? I guess maybe I'm just not as pretty as the other models? I'm not a thin girl. I'm not really fat either but I don't know. Could it have something to do with that? I don't know why he is asking me to do photoshoots with him and putting in all the time and effort to take pics of me and edit them, but won't give me the same treatment as his other models. I mean, if I'm just not quite pretty enough to be on his page, why does he keep asking me to do this? Maybe he just sees me as extra practice for his better models?

I can't say for sure, but, yes, it's possible that he's using you for practice. The reality is that the entertainment industry (which the modeling industry falls under, along with movies, music, and even sports) is brutal. Even the top, most beautiful models get rejected - there are times when they are hired, show up for a shoot, and have the photographer or the client dismiss them, sometimes without even giving them a reason. The same with actors - actors lose jobs all the time, sometimes for a fairly legitimate reason, and sometimes without any good reason at all, but, yes, aesthetics are a huge part of that world, and it's an especially cruel world.
I'm reminded of when MTV launched, and a number of bands were dropped by their labels because they "didn't have the right look for MTV" (i. e., the label thought they were too ugly to be on TV). Many of these were successful band with hit songs, but as soon as their visual image became such a big factor, they got dropped.
In the movies, it's not uncommon for an actor - even a fairly big name actor - to have their parts cut out and "left on the cutting room floor." It happens even more to newbies, who are considered "expendable" - imagine being an actor and thinking you've landed your first movie, only to have your part cut out. But it happens all the time.
Granted, there could be some other reason that you and I aren't aware of, but consumers and prospective customers can also be very cruel, and it's not uncommon for things like this to happen.
If you're going to participate in the modeling world at any level, you're either going to have to come to peace with this or you need to quit. The industry is hyper-competitive and very fickle, and it certainly isn't going to change for you (or anyone else). You either need to find a way to be happy with what you're already getting out of it, or leave it for a less competitive endevour.
He asks me to participate in these shoots tho. And he was the one who seeked me out and contacted me first. I just don't understand why he would do all of this just for practice. But I am a bit on the thicker side of average. Maybe it's just my body? I'm not fat, but not skinny at all either.
Again, I can't say anything for sure, but it may be that HE likes the way you look, but is afraid that some of his (potential) customers wouldn't, or maybe he wants to have pics to show to women who are interested in taking such pics but who don't have tiny runway-model bodies.
His Instagram has to appeal to the largest segment of the population, so he's going to cater to the most mainstream beauty standards on it to attract the highest number of clients - but he's probably also fully aware that there are going to be customers who have different tastes, and he can offer examples for them too.
Again, this is all just my own speculation. Only the photographer can give you a real answer - but don't ask questions if you can't handle the truth. As I said, the entertainment world in all aspects is ultra-competitive and quite harsh - there's nothing "fair" about it - and even the most beautiful women in the world complain about how cruel it can be. You have to understand and accept what that world is like, and you need to figure out if you can deal with it or not, and take actions accordingly.
You’ll get over it once a fashion company reaches out to your agency for work….
I don't think that's gonna happen. I'm not tall or skinny. And I'm from a small town in the middle of nowhere. Lmao. But I just dont understand why he reaches out to me to do photoshoots but doesn't post me at all whereas he posts his other models. Maybe he just sees me as extra practice for the better girls?
Post them your own then.
What could be wrong with my pics to make him not post them tho? I know it's kinda silly to be upset over this, but it's a bit disheartening that I don't get the same treatment as the other models. I guess maybe I'm just camera practice?
You’re looking too far into it.
Collect the pictures he takes, post them yourself. Done
