Because he may feel like you are just replying to be nice also.
If he messages you first all the time, then you could just reply to be nice.
Taking turns show you both want to talk and settles you both down.

I don’t know what to think for some this means he isn’t interested and that he is being nice replying ! I like him so It’s my wish this is normal but it seems like it’s not :(
