Why is it that so many guys don’t care about the cleanliness of the their homes?

I suppose I am lucky in this respect. My partner is a bit of a neat freak like I am. There are certain chores and household tasks that we each do more than the other, but if something needs cleaned, we clean it. If he is the one who notices, he doesn't wait for me to find the mess.

Now, I am only going to guess that guys (in general) that do not keep a tidy home are just lazy. It really is not that hard to come up with a quick list of things to do each week and spend a set amount of time getting them done.

I think one of the biggest problems for people that have a home in complete disarray is that they keep letting it go to the point that cleaning up is a major project. If you just stay on top of chores throughout the week, there is never that much to do at any one point.

Because for certain things, a number of men still live in the 18th. century.

Among those things, I can think of cleaning, household chores and cooking. They still believe that it is solely the duty of a woman to perform.

The same applies by the way to sex. Men still are of the opinion that women should always be available when men have the need to get rid of some testosterone.

On one hand, they think that people should live in the 21st. century with all the convenience it brings, yet on the other hand, the 18th. century will be perfectly fine when it comes to sharing chores and tasks at home.

What makes you think they don't? It's a matter of utility, not aesthetics; a guy knows where everything is and keeps it in a handy, easily-accessible place. Why put it away in a place he'll have to trudge all the way over to the shelf to access when it's faster and simply to just leave it on the floor next to the couch?

I don’t know what men you’re dating but I as well as my 4 brothers are clean freaks. That comes from my mom. I will say women’s cars are the most disgusting. I shouldn’t say all women as I have not ridden I. All women’s cars, but the ones I have damn it’s disgusting.

Most men may have grown up in a household where they saw their mum or sister doing the chores, while their father went to work. Men who have been raised in a traditional and patriarchal home may have a mindset that cleaning is a woman's work
