Me and this guy I’m talking to share a group of friends and we had group call going on, when I joined the group call I caught him saying “I can’t wait to get a girlfriend” I left the call immediately and was added back on, then later in the group call, his friend threw him under the bus and told me that he said he was waiting for the right one and the guy I was talking to didn’t say a word. Is this a sign that he doesn’t think of me as anything more?

Possibility one could be hinting to you publicly within a friend group. His friend could have been trying to add on to his "buds" hinting. In essence, you are to know that you have his interest and are potentially the "right one".

Possibility two could be he has interest as well as a friend who competes with and/or against him. This friend may also have an interest in you, therefore, "throwing him under the bus" is a possible correct assumption.

If I were you, I would consider both assumptions and notice their interactions with one another, as well with you, in daily life.-Of course, this will require a more prevalent presence and involvement. If you end up with one of these guys, knowing the raw character of each is good.
